Jaivery came right on schedule. My last day of work was Wednesday and I told everyone I would have her Thurs or Fri. Needless to say, my family all laughed at me. Sure enough, I was at the hospital Thursday night and she was born Friday morning. Although she was full-term, I was only 37 weeks. All my kiddo's are born at 37 weeks, big deal right? Well apparently Jaivery didn't like that. She didn't want to breathe. We started out with the oxygen "cake pan" (that's what it looks like to me!) thinking it was just retained fluid from delivery, and progressed to high flow 40% oxygen, I.V. fluids, antibiotics and eventually intubating and giving surfactant. What full-term baby has a surfactant deficiency? Mine. It's been a long go, but 3 days later, we're on our first night without oxygen and will hopefully finish up antibiotics in the morning and finally get to go home. So grateful for modern medicine! Where would we be without it? I will post more pictures when we get home! Wish us luck!!

She is beautiful, Jan! I'm so sorry for the rough start. I hope she does well on room air and you can take that little girly home soon!
She is Absolutely Beautiful!!! Congrats! We're going to have to give each other moral support through the teenage years with all of these Girls!
She is so cute!! Sorry I didn't make it over the other nightm but I have a gift for ya so I will try to make it over for a visit :) Congrats!
congratulations Jan! I had no idea you were expecting. You have such a beautiful family!
i'm glad you aren't private anymore. I had the same experience when I went private. Half the fun is to have people comment on what is going on.
Anyway, i hope all is well. i sure do miss you, even though it has been years since we hung out.
love your guts!
